Privacy Notice
Last updated: November 6, 2026
This Privacy Notice describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights when you use WrenJump. We are committed to minimizing data collection and protecting your privacy.
1. Who We Are
Data controller: WrenJump Operator
Contact email: [email protected]
WrenJump is a macOS-only utility. It is sold via our own distribution channels. It requires Accessibility permission in macOS to monitor global keyboard shortcut combinations. This permission is necessary for core hotkey features.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum data required to operate WrenJump:
- Hashed device identifier: your Mac computes a SHA-256 hash of its hardware UUID with a fixed salt and sends only that hash to our license server. The raw hardware UUID never leaves your device. We use the hash to bind a license to a device and to handle deactivation and migration.
- License and order data: your activation code, order / transaction id, product and seat limit, purchase date, invoice id and number, and the purchase email address. The App sends the purchase email when you redeem an activation code; the remaining order details come from the payment provider.
- Technical data: the first and last time each device contacted the license server, and a short-lived client IP address used only for rate limiting.
Important: WrenJump uses macOS Accessibility APIs to detect only the configured hotkey combinations you set.
WrenJump DOES NOT log, record, store, upload, or transmit any other keystrokes, typed text, passwords, screen content, local files, usage statistics, feature usage logs or user behavioral data. Only the matching hotkey trigger event is processed locally on your device. No usage information leaves your computer.
We do not collect your name or payment card details, and the App never sends them. Payment details are handled by our merchant of record (MoR) under its own privacy policy. As described above, our license server does store the purchase email address and the order / invoice information needed to validate your license.
Hashed device identifiers and device activity times are kept in our license database for as long as the license is active, and are removed when you deactivate that device or it is replaced by another device. Order and invoice records are retained to keep your license valid and to meet financial record-keeping obligations. Rate-limiting IP records expire within one day.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Validate your license periodically, handle device deactivation and reactivation on other devices, and prevent unauthorized use of unlocked features;
- Troubleshoot license activation and device migration issues when you contact support.
4. Third‑Party Services
WrenJump uses the following third‑party services, which have their own privacy policies:
- Our merchant of record (MoR): payment processing and order management
This provider may collect limited technical data governed by its own rules. WrenJump does not send any application usage information to it or any other third parties.
5. Revoking Accessibility Permission
You can disable Accessibility access for WrenJump at any time in macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility. After revocation, global hotkey features will stop working.
6. Your Data Rights
To exercise any of the rights below, contact us at [email protected]. We do not operate a self-service account portal, so all requests are handled by email. We respond within 30 calendar days of receiving your request, and we may ask for your license key or purchase reference to verify your identity before acting on it.
Depending on applicable law, you have the following rights:
- Right to be informed — know what data we collect and how we use it;
- Right of access — obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Right to rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data under certain conditions;
- Right to restrict processing — temporarily suspend processing in certain cases;
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format;
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or marketing;
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent for consent-based processing at any time.
The data linked to you is limited to the hashed device identifier, your activation code, and the purchase email and order / invoice information listed in section 2. To obtain a copy, correct it, unbind a device, or cancel your license, email [email protected] with your license key or purchase reference; we will confirm once the request is completed. You can also deactivate a device yourself in WrenJump, and revoke Accessibility permission as described in section 5.
Please note the limits of erasure: deactivating a device removes its device binding from our license database, but order and invoice records are retained for financial and legal record-keeping purposes and to keep your license valid. We will erase any other data we hold where we are able to do so.
You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Changes
We may revise this Privacy Notice. Changes will be published on this page.
